Mould manufacturing is the core of what Hindustan Chemicals Works does. The catalogue covers interlocking pavers from 40 mm to 100 mm, floor tiles from 12 x 4 through to 12 x 12, roof tiles and kerbstone sections — in plain, matting, stone-look, etched and patterned faces.
A mould has to do two things well: release cleanly so the cast product is not damaged at demoulding, and hold its shape over thousands of cycles so the last paver matches the first. Both come down to the material and the moulding, which is where the work goes.

That depends on how it is used, cleaned and stored. Moulds cleaned with water and a soft brush and stored flat and shaded last considerably longer than those scraped with tools or left in the sun.
